Why am I being asked to send you an image of my Credit Card?
These days, the misuse of Credit Cards by hackers and thieves for expensive purchases is very common. If you have not already been a victim of credit card fraud, you likely know someone who has. Thieves use your credit card number to buy stuff quickly online and receive it before your bill comes due. You usually never know your card has been stolen until you get the bill.
At DirectDeals, we take your identity and account security very seriously to ensure that the order placed on our website is legitimate.. Our website uses a complex and sophisticated algorithm to screen each order to ensure the order being placed is legitimate. While we make our best efforts to avoid fraud, on rare occasions, we must go to another level to ensure the order is legitimate. While the majority of online fraudulent charges take place without the actual credit card present, sometimes we may require proof that the credit card being used is in your possession. We may ask that you send us an image of the credit card as proof. This is not unlike the cashier at a large retail store asking to see your Driver's License when they accept your credit card for payment. Once we are satisfied that you are not the victim of credit card fraud or identity theft, we will gladly process your order. This step in our fraud prevention is not only to protect DirectDeals but to you as the credit card holder against identity theft.
