What’s the difference between Windows and Office?
Windows is the name of Microsoft’s Operating System. This software is designed to give the computer hardware the language to function as we would expect it to do. For instance, when you press the print button, your printer prints out the pages. Without these software instructions, a computer can not function. Microsoft Office is the name of a suite of programs from Microsoft that perform specific functions. Word is the name of a word processing program from Microsoft and performs the functions of a word processor or typewriter. Excel is the name of a spreadsheet program from Microsoft and performs functions one would expect from a ledger-based spreadsheet program. There are different versions of Microsoft Office, and each contains specific programs with different functions.
